Carla was born in Las Vegas, NV. She received her BFA then moved to Taos, NM where she completed graduate work at UNM and studied at the Taos Institute of Art and the Fechin Institute. For two years she worked exclusively with Louis Tedesco, where she studied the Chiaroscuro method of painting used by Rembrandt, Caravaggio and many other masters from that era. She gains her inspiration from the many artists of the past, such as Artemesia Gentileschi, Rembrandt and Anne Vallayer-Coster, as well as many of todays living masters.
Carla has been in several one person shows as well as being part of many group exhibitions. She has won numerous awards, including, Chardin and Rembrandt awards. She is also a member of Oil Painters of America.
Carlas work can be found in private collections throughout the world, including Clemson University Library, Japan and Holland to name a few.
