OKLAHOMA CITY – The new year 2020 brings wonderful news. JRB Art at The Elms recently acquired all remaining works of art from the estate of well-known Oklahoma artist D.J. Lafon (1929 – 2011). The exhibition of many of the works opens First Friday, at JRB Art at The Elms on January 3, 2020.

A self-taught Guthrie artist achieves a vivid, folk art-like edge in his southwest landscapes at JRB Art at The Elms, 2810 N Walker.

The artist is Jim Keffer, whose “Moments” acrylics are on view with semi-abstract acrylic paintings by Jean Richardson.  Both shows run through Dec. 31.

In December at JRB Art at The Elms Gallery in the Paseo Arts District, Jean Richardson and Jim Keffer will be featured during the district’s First Friday Walk. The event, which begins at 6 p.m., will present the modern primitive style of Jim Keffer and the iconic, abstract, and focused contemporary acrylics of Jean Richardson.

Reception: The First Friday art walk and opening reception at JRB Art at the Elms in the Paseo Arts District featured three artists: Katherine Kerr Allen mixed media paintings; George Oswalt’s large realistic oil paintings; and Karam’s heavily textured three-dimensional works.
